How could it possibly be that even though I’ve been in this business for 6 months I’ve learned more about myself than I ever had before? How could it be that I am on track to make $75,000 this year just 6 months in business? What am I doing that is changing my life and can you do it too?
First allow me to tell you little about me. I am African… Straight from the “Factory”… I was born and raised in one of the most beautiful places in the world. A place where Peace, Love, and Unity freely rule the land and its subjects. I was fortunate enough to go to elementary and high school. School was never guaranteed for me due to financial challenges that we constantly faced. My Dad was a Bus driver and the sole bread winner of the house. My mom, my siblings and I always did odd jobs like farming gigs, on site construction gigs, and selling farm produce mostly on the road side to earn pocket money. Life was good then, but I always knew that it could be better.
My native land Kenya, is an amazing place but opportunities to be a success do not present themselves in any way, shape, or form. As you can tell, I come from very humble beginnings, and this has been the greatest motivator. I came to the United States in June of 2008, Couldn’t have come at any worse time. For those who remember, this was a very hard time in the United States time, there were no jobs, and the economy had really hit the bottom. (*SIGH*)
So here I am, a 19 year old speaking broken english with an accent so thick it would make a brick shy. With $20 dollars in my pocket not knowing what to do, where to start, or even how to go about it. My cousin who was kind enough to host me gave me advice, “Aye Kijana,” (young man) he said “ The only way to make it in this country and utilize its opportunities is by being SELF EMPLOYED.” Whether it’s true or not, these words have been the foundation for my self employment quest. They words have stuck in my mind and since then, I’ve always sought an opportunity to be a successful business man. The Quest Began!! Seeking the “American Dream.” It took me 10 and a Half (10.5) years before I hit a gold mine.
Why am I telling you this you ask?… My goal is to help you realize your dreams are still there. I want you to know that the American Dream is still alive and well. I want you to know that if you can dream it, you can achieve it. I want you to FEEL, KNOW, and SEE your future the way you have always seen it. I want you to know that you can own that house on the hill top overlooking a lake, drive that Rolls Royce Ghost, shop for the clothes brand you well deserve Gucci, Prada, Oscar de la Renta, Dior among many. I have done it, I am doing it, and I will always do it and I want you to be part of my journey.
On this Blog, I will share with you how My journey started and encourage you to jump so that you can soar like an eagle you are. Share this with all that you know and all that believe there is more to life than working for someone.
